7. FAQs

Please send any questions you would like answered to the Pi In The Sky Team at moonbots.2011 (at) mcleanrobotics.org.  While we may not have all the answers, we promise to answer pertinent questions about the competition. 
Q: What are the topics of the Video Essay due in Phase I?

A: Each Team must submit a video that (no more than four minutes long) in which the Team members discuss one of the following topics:

·         Who is their favorite Google Lunar X PRIZE Team and why?

·         Who is their favorite Space Explorer and why?

·         Why is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education important, and how can space exploration benefit from having kids excel in these fields?

·         How can robots influence future space missions, including missions to the moon?

The video shall be uploaded to the Team’s online video sharing platform and must include the MoonBots Challenge Logo.  The video must include a title containing: “A Google Lunar X PRIZE LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Challenge”, the selected video topic chosen, and their Team’s Name.

Q: What else must a team submit for Phase I?

A: In addition to the video essay, each Team must also submit:

·         A 1-page Robot Design Funding Proposal to request that their robot design be funded for further development

·         A Team Logo

·         A Team Photo

·         A Team Name

Parents participation is essential to success.
